On November 2-3, 2016 in the research-and-production Conference "Effective production enhancement operations in the oil fields. Enhanced Oil Recovery. Technology of single tubing separate production" was held in the city of Izhevsk. During the Conference, the specialists of Polyex presented a report on new technologies with the application of surfactants, in which three new directions of application of surfactants were observed: application of surfactants in the technologies of hydrofracturing of formation, technologies for well killing for maintenance and repair work and technologies for water shut-off.
The use of viscoelastic surfactants for water-based fracturing fluids allows to provide high restoring of conductivity of the proppant package after hydrofrack operations. Viscoelastic surfactant based fracturing gel has good prop pant-carrying ability at low viscosity. This facilitates significantly the opportunities for the creation of the required geometry of the cracks in the complicated geological conditions.
Application of viscoelastic surfactants gives an opportunity to formulate water-based killing fluids with the densities of 0.7-0.9 g/cm3, which improves significantly the processability of killing of wells with abnormally low formation pressure for maintenance and repair works and makes this process be an ecologically friendly process.
The use of TAMOLEX® surfactants provides a possibility of selective water shut-off.
