Experimental and field tests of invert emulsions based on EKS-EM emulsifier

Technologies for conformance controlEKS-ЕМ, re-distribution of fluid filtration flows and reducing the water-cut of produced fluids are one of the directions of increasing the technical and economic indicators of field development especially at a late stage of field development with a large amount of associated water.

To solve this problem, technologies are used aimed at providing increased vertical coverage of formation (so called leveling of injectivity profile); reduction of water cut in production wells; enhanced oil recovery in the treated area.

One of such technologies is the invert hydrocarbon emulsions application. The article contains the laboratory test results of physicochemical and filtration properties of hydrocarbon emulsions, which are made with surfactant emulsifier EKS-ЕМ developed by Polyex Jsc (Perm City). It also contains the results of field trials of injection well treatment with EKS-EM based invert emulsions.
