High-density solutions thickened with viscoelastic surfactants produced by POLYEX jsc for use in well-killing in complicated conditions

Abstract
The article considers solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of killing of wells with abnormally high reservoir pressure associated with high gas/oil ratio and/or fluid loss. Instead of traditionally used brines with polymer thickener, it is proposed to use clear polymer-free water-based fluids with thickener based on viscoelastic surfactants (VES) of domestic production. The article shows that high density and high viscosity killing fluids with viscoelastic surfactants are stable, compatible with produced oil and water and do not require additional application of destructors for their decomposition. The fluid composition can be adjusted and optimized individually for the conditions of each facility, to meet customer regulatory requirements.
