Specialists of Polyex company took part in the IX International scientific-practical conference Practical aspects of oilfield chemistry.
The conference was held from May 22 till May 23, 2019 in Ufa. Solutions of the current problems of oil recovery improvement, oil transportation, well repair and other current topics were actively discussed at the conference.
Specialists of Polyex company have delivered four presentations.
The presentation of Technical Director A.I. Shipilov Surfactants as key components in compositions for oil and gas production aroused a great interest among the conference participants. The report observed the properties of various classes of surfactants in terms of their applicability in process fluids, solutions for intensifying oil and gas production, etc. The presentation paid attention both to conventionally used properties of surfactants such as ability to decrease surface tension at the oil-water interface, washing and solubilizing, emulsifying and demulsifying properties and structural and rheological properties of surfactants which has been attracting more and more attention recently.
The report gave the examples of the surfactants application to solve specific problems in acid stimulation fluids, killing fluids and other process fluids.
Particular attention is paid to the main mechanisms for controlling the rheological properties of process fluids using viscoelastic surfactants.
The report of the Deputy Technical Director A. Yelsukov VES Containing Acid fluids with an auto-controlled rate of reaction with carbonate rock produced by Polyex JSC also caused a lively discussion among the conference participants.
The prospects and conditions of application of so-called self-diverting acid fluids and the issues of the specific behavoir (rheology) of the acid fluid during the process of depletion were actively discussed. The report presented self-diverting acid fluids which are based on the viscoelastic surfactants of SURFOGEL® А/АТ brand produced by Polyex company.
The ability to control the acid fluids viscosity during the acid treatment which allows to control the reaction rate of acid fluids with carbonate rock by changing the viscosity and molecular diffusion coefficient at the interface between the acid and the rock was figured out.
The main approaches to the ensuring of compatibility of the acid fluids with formation fluids and to ensuring low corrosiveness by the injection of ACIRONIXTM acid package additives were demonstrated.
The report Surfactan-based complex of chemicals produced by Polyex JSC for the making acid gel for acid fracturing with proppant of Babkina N.V. also aroused a discussion.
The mechanism of gel destruction after the acid-proppant fracturing operation and the prospects of using SURFOGEL® chemicals produced by Polyex company for carrying out such operations were actively discussed, for when using SURFOGEL® grade AF chemical the fracturing procedures are simplified significantly and at the same time all technological requirements for the operation are surely met.
The last report was the Viscoelastic surfactants produced by Polyex company for proppant hydraulic fracturing of E. Krutikhin.
Viscoelastic surfactants of the SURFOGEL® grade D used in a wide temperature range, which are the base for making polymer-free proppant fracturing fluids were observed in the report. The first successful experience in the industrial use of SURFOGEL® grade D was also presented.
The most discussed topics during the conference were using H2S scavengers and searching of the alternatives to hydrochloric acidizings. The specialists of Polyex noted the high level of organization of the conference, the relevance of the topics discussed and the prospects of developments in the field of oil and gas production.
